Luxury Beach House, Havannah Harbour
There are lazy comfortable beach houses - and then there is 'Sarong'. This luxury residence, overlooking offshore islands and the expansive boating paradise of Havannah Harbour, is the "ultimate entertainer's" tropical beach house with 10 metre ceilings, a designer's kitchen and more than enough amenities to comfortably house a large family or visiting guests. Walk along the beach to the 5 star Havannah Resort for breakfast, lunch or dinner and live the perfect pampered life.
Havannah Harbour is an easy 20 minute drive North-West of Port Vila airport on a sealed road. It is an idyllic location without the hustle and bustle of Port Vila. Expatriate homes dot the sheltered harbour-side coastline with stunning views over the calm harbour waters to Lelepa and Moso Islands. Diving and snorkeling activities thrive in the crystal water of Havannah Harbour amid stunning coral reefs. Local residents are mostly keen swimmers, fishermen or boaties who cannot resist the lure of the harbour and offshore waters.
The Outdoor Setting
Sarong is situated on Sunset Beach in an acre of manicured gardens. Fruit trees include Kaffir Limes, Lemons, Oranges, Grapefruit, Mango, Avocados, Soursop, Bananas and Paw Paw. An established curry tree compliments lemongrass, rosemary and a variety of other herbs. Mature Frangipani and Jacaranda trees abound amongst a variety of Palm Trees and the garden showcases a wide variety of Hibiscus, Ginger, Cycads, Bougainvillea, Roses and well trimmed hedges. A highlight in the garden is the large Water-Lilly pond adjacent to the beachside dining and kitchen fare. Relax on the beachside sofa with your morning coffee and watch the turtles snacking just metres from the beach.
Sarong is famed for its 10 metre-high cathedral ceilings and open-plan living space, dominated by the Grand Piano on display as you enter the main salon. Various seating areas, defined by Persian rugs and tropical ceiling fans, service the large screen TV, a library nook and a window-side reading area.
A large indoor dining table overlooks the luxury designer's kitchen which has two sinks, two dishwashers, two ovens, a built in coffee maker, three wine fridges, a dedicated liquor cabinet, substantial built-in 'easy close' drawers and cupboards, white Ceaserstone countertops and bar seating for six stools.
Three air-conditioned, king size bedrooms - each with an ensuite - lead off the main salon. A large air-conditioned office / second living area has sliding glass doors with vistas of the swimming pool and the harbour beyond.
A wide hallway with abundant book storage and featured art works leads to the air-conditioned, sound-proof cinema with elevated recliner seating. The giant screen and surround sound ensure a first class cinema experience.
Another notable feature is the large, Crimsafe screened verandah areas that overlook the harbour-side views to the islands. A BBQ, a dining table for 12 persons and a living area with rattan lounge seating for 8 persons adorn the spacious verandahs.
In fact, the whole property has Crimsafe screens on all doors and windows and this creates a safe haven - day and night - perfect for "insect-free" breezes, without the need to close any of the glass sliding doors. The main residence also houses a luxury powder room and laundry and has direct access from a 3 car lock-up garage.
Outside, a self contained guest-apartment has an additional kitchen, living area, king size bed and luxury bathroom. This is only one, of numerous outbuildings that dot the landscaped acreage, providing pleasant garden escapes and peaceful privacy.
A 45 square metre external Guest Pavilion with sliding glass doors overlooks the garden and has a self-contained kitchen, luxury bathroom, spacious living and king size bed.
The beach pavilion houses a wood fired BBQ area, a bar table with 10 bar stools, a dining table for 8 and a large sectional sofa.
Surrounded by water lilies this pavilion is a restful place for two sun lounges.
An air-conditioned gymnasium with glass doors over looking the gardens.
Garden BBQ Pavilion
A shady spot to rest in the rear garden with BBQ and picnic table frequently used by staff at lunchtime
A generator room (for emergency power) with an outdoor toilet and bathroom (for the gardener).

Solar Battery Shed
The property is 100% powered by Solar panels supported by batteries and Inverter. On the odd occasion - when the solar fails due to rainy, overcast days -the property can be simply switched across to mains power from Unelco.
Two separate bores with pumps supply water to the house, and to the gardens, respectively.
Rain water tank
A 10,000 litre rain water tank also supplies water to the house.
